GAS Viva La Prima Surf Green – Super-lightweight offset with a distinctive Tele + P90 voice

The GAS Viva® La Prima Surf Green is a Finnish-built offset guitar weighing just 2.8 kg, combining classic vintage aesthetics with modern playability and a highly distinctive pickup combination. The result is a lightweight, versatile and characterful instrument for both stage and studio use.

The body is made from a single piece of Finnish poplar and finished in classic Surf Green with gloss nitrocellulose lacquer. The matching headstock, black Bakelite pickguard and nickel hardware create a fresh yet unmistakably vintage-inspired look.

The one-piece neck is made from roasted hard maple and shaped to a classic-inspired 57 Soft V profile. A compound 9.5″–12″ radius keeps the guitar comfortable across the entire neck: naturally rounded for chord work lower down, and flatter higher up for easier bends and lead playing. 21 Jescar stainless-steel frets provide a precise feel and excellent long-term durability.

One of the most distinctive features of this Viva is its pickup combination. In the neck position you’ll find GAS’s own Open Frame Tele pickup with Alnico II magnets, paired with a Seymour Duncan Phat Cat P90 in the bridge. The 6.0 kΩ neck pickup delivers an open, articulate and Tele-inspired voice, while the 8.0 kΩ Phat Cat adds the midrange punch, warmth and bite associated with a great P90. Together they offer two clearly different but highly complementary tonal characters.

CTS 300k pots, a Switchcraft 3-way toggle and a straightforward Volume/Tone layout keep the controls intuitive and reliable. An ABM 3255 bridge, Kluson Deluxe tuners and an aluminium control plate complete the high-quality hardware package.
