GAS Viva La Prima British Racing Green – Brass hardware, Firebird character and classic racing green

The GAS Viva® La Prima British Racing Green is a distinctive Finnish-built offset guitar that combines classic British Racing Green styling with raw brass boutique hardware and modern playability. At approximately 3.15 kg, it remains light and well balanced, while the overall look has a refined, vintage-inspired character all its own.

The body is made from two pieces of roasted pine and finished in gloss nitrocellulose lacquer. A light relic treatment gives the British Racing Green finish just the right amount of lived-in character without making the guitar look overly worn. The black Bakelite pickguard and matching headstock tie the whole design together beautifully.

The neck is made from quarter-sawn hard maple and shaped to GAS’s Viva Almost Even C profile. A compound 9.5″–12″ radius provides a comfortable feel across the entire neck, while 21 Jescar FW57110-S stainless-steel frets offer precise playability and excellent long-term durability. Black block inlays, Luminlay side markers and a Black TUSQ nut complete the modern yet highly individual neck setup.

Electronics are handled by GAS’s own Firebird pickups. The 6.1 kΩ neck pickup delivers a more open and dynamic voice, while the hotter 12.7 kΩ bridge pickup adds significantly more punch and authority. CTS 300k pots, a Switchcraft 3-way toggle and a straightforward Volume/Tone layout keep the controls simple, reliable and stage-ready.

The hardware is one of the defining features of this instrument. The Halon JM tremolo and Halon JM Bridge MS58 are made from unplated brass, as is the control plate. Brass saddles and FliteLite Brass Gold knobs continue the theme, while Gotoh tuners and gold details complete the look. As the raw brass develops a natural patina over time, the hardware will continue to evolve along with the guitar itself.
